Mr Helmi Talib, Managing Partner of the Helmi Talib Group.
As we welcome the new year with rejuvenated spirit and hope- I find it important to take a moment to appreciate the successes and lessons we have learnt in 2020.
The world witnessed an unprecedented challenge with the onset of the pandemic- from countries going under lockdown to health authorities racing towards developing vaccines- yet even amidst these struggles we witnessed some silver linings of hope and change. With businesses seeking unconventional ways to achieve business continuity including the facilitation for employees to work from home, investing in digital technology, and encouraging wider use of virtual platforms for communication, the new world order opened up a new vista for the global community.
The entire episode must have influenced a greater part of the population switching into a reflective mode or prompting to take stock of the characteristically fast phased life. Many of us probably have already learnt to appreciate the simple things in life that we all once took for granted. Taking a stroll in the park, sharing a meal with friends and family, travelling on holidays are some of the simple pleasures that have been all of a sudden stolen from us, albeit temporarily.
Let us remain confident that there is always a silver lining and the year ahead would bring prosperity and peace.
As a business, here at the Helmi Talib Group, the year 2020 certainly was with its challenges. Our business continuity plans helped us to stay abreast of the developments and quickly implement strategic measures to cope with it. Of key note was also the conversion of our entity, Helmi Talib & Co to Helmi Talib LLP, effective from 10 December 2020. We hope to focus the new year on expanding our global presence with further recruitments at our representative office in Manila, Philippines dedicated to deliver service excellence to our clients.
As the government begins to ease restrictions and with vaccines underway, we are looking forward to reopening our offices in full swing, a process which will be carefully guided by government directives and keeping in mind the health and safety of all our employees and client’s best interest at heart.
Here’s to hoping for a better and brighter 2021 and wishing all you a Happy & Healthy New Year!
